Youth eligible for PATHS services are:

  • Between the ages of 18-21
  • Intersected with child welfare or youth justice
  • Without or at risk of being without housing

CW Solutions operates one of two PATH programs in Wisconsin (the other is operated in Milwaukee by Pathfinders). PATHS is a program for emerging adults, age 18-21 who had some type of child welfare interaction while they were a minor who now need housing support. 

PATHS utilizes Housing First and Rapid Re-Housing frameworks to provide immediate housing supports and wraparound services to facilitate long-term housing stability for youth. Our program’s focus is to empower youth to work on their goals in  five core service areas:

  1. Permanent Connections
  2. Academics
  3. Training and Employment
  4. Housing
  5. Social and Emotional Well-being

Youth in PATHS shared their experiences related to housing as November is National Youth Homelessness Awareness Month.

"When I first became unhoused, I was scared, hopeless, and confused. It took a lot of asking around and house hopping to get where I was at, and going through all the struggles and trying to get help. It was definitely a sad and confusing experience, but it made me who I am today."

"When I faced housing instability, I was scared and confused, it took a lot of energy from me and was hard on my mental health. Luckily I had a strong bond with my sister who was able to calm me down and figure out what the next step was and who to talk to."
