Wisconsin Housing Support Services (WHSS) Program
The WHSS program is supported through an initiative under the Wisconsin Department of Health Services as a Medicaid Pilot Program Operated by CW Solutions. WHSS provides services in certain regions in Wisconsin to support families in developing skills and support systems to obtain and retain housing, positively interact with their landlord, and lead healthy lives.
CW Solutions operates WHSS in Lincoln, Marathon, and Wood counties. The grant was awarded in July 2023 and services began in September 2023.
Eligibility
- Be part of a household with children or a pregnant individual
- Meet the criteria for one of HUD’s four categories of homelessness, including being unhoused, facing imminent risk of becoming unhoused, or fleeing or attempting to flee Domestic Violence
- Be under 200% of the Federal Poverty Level
- Consent to participate inLincoln, Marathon, or Wood county
Although the program is primarly for case management services with families, there is limited funding to assist families enter new housing. Funding is limited to $2,000 per family.
